Thursday, September 27 at 7:30 PM – 8:30 PM
Place: David Friend Recital Hall
921 Boylston St, Boston, Massachusetts 02115
Invitation from the talented Bulgarian musician Vessela Stoyanova (Assistant Professor at Berklee College of Music )
"I am very excited to announce this upcoming Samodivi show!"
The music of Samodivi is inspired by the beautiful melodies and rhythmical intricacies of Balkan music. The repertoire includes modern interpretations of old folk songs from the Balkan peninsula, as well as original compositions dating all the way back to my first band .WAV and spanning almost 20 years of writing and performing.
The band is comprised of amazingly talented young musicians from all over the world. The instrumentation includes quanun, clarinet, strings, my favorite singer of all times Burcu Gulec, and of course marimba (or three).
